Color this crazy can only be Inglot. How I love it.

Inglot 20 was swept across the entire eye. Inglot 317 was used on the outer corner/crease, and Inglot 477 was dabbed on the center of my eyelid. I used some gold and green eyeliners to finish the look.

I just love this green from Inglot, and I’m always happy when I find an eye and lip pairing that works – it seems I have tricky skin for eye and lip colors as nudes never work on me and a strong eye/strong lip can be really overdone. This green and coral works!

I didn’t mean to look mad.

Products used:

  • Paula’s Choice Best Face Forward foundation
  • Sonia Kashuk Lip Sheer in Melon (very lightly applied)
  • Inglot 39 shine
  • Inglot 08 shine on inner corner of eye (layered over 39)
  • NYX retractable liner in green and brown
  • Benefit They’re Real Mascara
  • Sonia Kashuk Glisten Duo
  • Paula’s Choice Face Powder

Monday Morning Makeup Inspiration: Peaches and Green

Best of Summer from Allure: Matte Pink Lips

3rd in my Best of Summer from Allure inspired Summer Series.

Inspired by Lucy Hale’s Matte Pink Lip look.

matte pink lips revlon just bitten lipstain in lovesick

Neither lip looks extremely matte to me, but neither do they look glossy. Finding just the right tone for your skin can be challenging, but when you do – you’ll want to hang on to it.

Lip colors do interesting things to lips. They can bring them forward or back a little bit. The right color will give you just the right amount of contour.

When I wear a color that is too dark and off color for me, my lips seem to jump out from my face and scream – look how out of proportion I am! This color is just right.

Best of Summer from Allure: Coral[berry] lips

Best of Summer from Allure Magazine My Takes Part II: Coral[Berry] Lips.

I like coral so much that I don’t mind variations on a theme, and I might do a more coraly coral. But coral berry is a tone that fits my skin so if I need two posts for this one, that’s ok with me.

coral-berry-lips-freida-and-marisa-porter

For this look, I opted for Aqua eyes instead of smokey eyes, though I do love the look of Freida’s smokey eyes.

best-of-summer-2013-coral-lips-allure-magazine-2

I’m getting a kick out of all the seatbelt pictures – but it’s a convenient time to snap natural lighting pictures (although I feel like there must be flash in this one).

I used Revlon Coralberry on the lips. Aqua shades from Pop Beauty Pop Portfolio, as well as a pale white champagne. I used Sonia Kashuk Glisten Blush Bronzer Duo on the cheeks, Paula’s Choice Best Face Forward Foundation, as well as my favorite skincare from Paula’s Choice (Resist Ultralight Antioxidant Serum), and Paula’s Choice Great Big Lashes Mascara. I also used Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer.

Best of Summer from Allure: GOLDEN EYES AND CHEEKS Julianne Hough

I was going to jump right into my fall makeup series but when I saw the Best of Summer from Allure online magazine, I had to insert another summer series, this one based on celebrity looks.

Paula’s Choice Ultralight Resist Antioxidant Serum – a MUST in my book. My skin was freaking out without this. This went all over my face and under my eyes.

Sonia Kashuk Ultra Luxe Lipgloss in Coral.

Tarte Cheek Stain in Loving.

DSC08501 (1024x768)

My base after skincare was Tarte TM Agent 06 and Maracuja Creaseless Concealer, powdered lightly with Paula’s Choice Pressed Powder and the massive Real Techniques powder brush.

Allure magazine said strong brows were a must to ground a golden look so I used Sonia Kashuk Arch Alert Brow Palette – an incredible tool to both shape and set your brows. Bronzer went on outer temples and outside/top of cheeks.

  DSC08498 (1024x768)

My Real Techniques Brushes – so versatile.

DSC08503 (1024x768)

I used two Inglot Eyeshadow for this look, but one was the hero – I even used it as a highlighter (I used the contour brush to use it as a highlighter). The bright angel gold eyeshadow below which is a staple color for me. I put the gold on the inner apple of cheeks, across them middle of my forehead, and all over the lid up to the brow bone, and used a brow brush to apply it to the inner corner of my eyes, including the bottom lid.

The pale champagne pink in the upper left corner, I applied with my finger to the outer above-the-crease-area of my lid – a light blush kind of effect.

DSC08504 (1024x768)

How could I have forgotten to include my favorite mascara? Paula’s Choice Great Big Lashes. I will be reviewing this mascara in the next week along with a lineup of other mascaras. But it missed the photoshoot.

Another staple product that missed the photoshoot was one of my NYX Retractable pencils in bronze. As with many looks, I applied this to the outer half of my top lashline and the outer third of my bottom lash line.

Wouldn’t believe how many products a “simple” look takes!

Summer Makeup Series III – Soft n Smokey Fuschia

A soft smokey for special days, those who love dramatic looks or summer evening cocktails. The silver smokey eye with a touch of purple plays beautifully with the Fuschia Lip Sheer from the Sonia Kashuk lip sheer collection. I’m back to my versatile Sonia Kashuk Glisten duo (is there anything this blush color can’t be worn with?) blended with the Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Bronzer in Warm Tan. This looks says stunning and glamorous. Again the pop of fuschia on the lips pulls this looks towards a light-hearted cheeriness.

Check out all 3 looks in my Summer Makeup Series. 🙂 http://wearyourvitamins.com/category/summer-makeup-series-2013/

Summer Makeup Series II – Sultry Bronzed and Berried

Go for a more sultry eye look this morning by combining gold, bronze and champagne. This mixed metals look looks sophisticated but the berry lip sheer steers it towards summery whimsical while keeping that touch of sultriness. A mauvey neutral cheek color blends well with the eye trio and a touch of bronzer warms up the whole palette. Another great way to celebrate summer with your colors!
