I have been waiting for months. Months. While Sonia kashuk has been teasing us with instagram pictures of her new lip glosses and little snippets on Facebook.

I was at Target with my husband to get a few groceries to last us until the weekend, when I’ll get paid for one of my websites (yeah!).

I saw a flash of a lot of new black packaging and long classy cylinders. “oh honey,” I said in hushed and excited tones. (Well I don’t know about hushed – I think everyone could hear me.). They’re here. The new Sonia Kashuk products are out. Oh honey, they’re here. This deserves a look.” I dragged him over to the Sonia Kashuk aisle. “Oh, honey.” I could not stop exclaiming about my finds. “I thought she was just coming out with the luxe lip gloss. There are lip sheers, and tinted lip balms, too. I have to look at these; if there’s one thing Sonia Kashuk does better than anyone else it’s color.” I exclaimed and remarked until Nate started dragging me towards the grocery side of the store. “Remember what we came for? You promised me little smokies.”

Something about the Sonia Kashuk aisle had me in a shopping mood. “Oh look! The little smokies are on clearance! Only $2.50 for all these little smokies. We should buy two. Wow, my favorite tea is on clearance, too! We’ll get two of those.” And then there was the coffee. “I’m a coffee drinker now. I need cheap coffee. I’m too tired in the morning.” (Maybe what I needed every morning was a trip to Target?).

On the way back I wondered how much of our grocery money was left. Then I remembered something. “I sold my purse.” I stated triumphantly. “Oh ebay. I’m going to use all that money to buy Sonia Kashuk stuff.”

While I didn’t quite use it all, I am happy to report to you that I have found, without a doubt, the world’s Gold Standard in lip gloss. Sonia Kashuk Ultra Luxe lip gloss.

It’s thick, like a lip tar, but spreads to a comfortable, not sticky, cushiness. This surpasses Tarte and Nuance by far. This is the lip gloss I have been looking for all my life!!! (Yes I know, this evening is melodramatic. How can I convince you that I speak the truth?) This is certainly a FAR cry from her old formula. It has pigment, if that’s what you’re looking for. Certainly more than any lip product I’ve ever tried. I think I might be wearing a bit much, but you can see how deliciously thickly it coats my lips with color below. It’s easy to wear too much. If you’re used to most lip glosses (nuance and tarte included), you will not be prepared for the rush of paint that comes out of this classy long case on a cute little brush applicator.

Luxe Lip Gloss in Magical Mulberry. The very berry sort of color I’ve been looking for. Kind of like my post last week about Kiera Knightley’s coralberry lips, but a little more berry.

And then there is the Tinted Lip Balm – Hint of Coral. Love the formula. The color is great – but not quite as sweet as Magical Mulberry. I think it might look right with the right makeup. I’m very impressed with the lip balm formula as well. For a balm, it’s very hydrating and very pigmented. A Touch of Coral it is not. I would call that quite coral. I’m very happy these are out because I got 3 Revlon Lip Balms with my Christmas money (wish I had saved it, really), and though I loved the formula the color selection was terrible, several really bright purples and pinks, a bright orange, a washed out nude….almost nothing for me. So happy Sonia Kashuk has a tinted lip balm!

I will definitely be looking for more purses to sell. Or coats. Or anything.
